IBS Software takes over Canadian aerospace software manufacturer Major

MONTREAL, March 23 / PRNewswire / Travel technology specialist IBS Software (IBS) has reached a definitive agreement with Massachusetts-based Kronos Incorporated to acquire AD OPT, an aviation software leader providing crew management solutions to some of the biggest names in the global aviation industry. AD OPT (www.ad-opt.com) was founded in Montreal in 1987 by a group of mathematicians and business researchers and was acquired in 2004 by Kronos, a multinational software and services company for workforce management with almost 6,000 employees worldwide. AD OPT's state-of-the-art crew planning and optimization platform currently operates some of the world's leading airlines including Air Canada, EasyJet, Emirates, FedEx, Garuda, Lion Air and Qantas. The multi-million dollar acquisition is an integral part of IBS’s growth strategy to become the world's leading technology provider to the aviation industry.
